- 2009 Baekje Cultural Festival: 9 - 18 Oct 2009

Venue: Chungcheongnam-do Gongju-si Buyeo-gun
Buyeo is one of three Korean cultural heritages, rich with Baekje Dynasty's culture and history. The Baekje Cultural Festival is a one of a kind festival, which focuses on Baekje's culture and magnificence. The Baekje Cultural Festival began in October of 1995 as a commemorating ceremony of Baekje's loyal servants Seong Chung, Heong Su, and General Gye Baek by holding a land and water festival.
In 1996, Gongju Province also held a Beakje culture festival. Today, the Baekje Cultural Festival is held in Buyeo every consecutive even years, and in Gongju during every consecutive odd years.
- Busan Jagalchi Festival: 21 - 25 Oct 2009
Venue: Busan Jagalchi Market
The ‘Jagalchi Market' is the largest seafood market in Korea, and is one of Busan's most well-known tourist attractions.
This festival takes place in the autumn every year, and its slogan is “Oiso! Boiso! Saiso! (“Come! See! Buy!” in the Busan accent)”. The huge size and bustling, lively atmosphere makes a visit to Jagalchi Market a unique experience for many visitors.
Small food stalls sell fresh inshore hagfish grilled on briquet fires, visitors will be able to try many unusual types of fish as well as excellent sashimi, which is available at low prices.
- Jarasum International Jazz Festival: 15 - 18 Oct 2009

Venue: Gyeonggi Gapyeong-gun Jaraseom
This international jazz festival will present a total of 30 jazz groups from 12 different countries including the United States, Japan, and Korea.
Every year, over 100,000 people visit this particularly popular festival and 95% of the attendees are actually previous visitors.
The main events of the festival are held on an island, and the sublime jazz music blends with the beautiful surroundings. As well as the music, visitors will enjoy the cosmos flowers and sunflowers, which are plentiful in the area.
Many of the performances are free and there are also leisure sports activities for visitors to enjoy.
- The 14th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF): 8 - 16 Oct 2009

Venue: Cinemas in Haeundae, Nampo-dong PIFF plaza, Haeundae PIFF viliage
The Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) was launched in 1996 and was the first film festival to ever take place in Korea. It is currently Korea's largest film festival and is known as one of the most dynamic film festivals in the world, making it “the” film festival in Asia.
As a result, Busan has become known as a city of arts and culture, and these days has been attracting considerable international attention. PIFF has served to introduce many international producers and distributors to Korean films and Korean culture. Audiences of the festival are exposed to the work of emerging filmmakers as well as movies from established masters of the craft, and the festival has provided great opportunities for Asian filmmakers.
Busan will continue to focus its energies on PIFF in order to make the city a landmark destination for cinema fans. The festival will serve as a platform for film investors and sponsors, in order to further develop both the Korean and the Asian movie industries.

Andong International Maskdance Festival: 25 Sep - 4 Oct 2009
Venue: Maskdance Park, Hahoe Folk village
The Andong region has many highly renowned historic and cultural sites, such as Hahoe Village, however the major cultural attraction of the region is the Andong International Mask Dance Festival.
Visitors to the festival will enjoy the many performances of Korea's traditional mask dances. These dances are an important part of Korea's heritage, in particular the byeolsingut talnori dance, which has been designated an Important Intangible Cultural Asset of Korea. International mask dance troupes have also been invited to the festival, so visitors will be exposed to folk cultures from around the world.
As well as performances, events in the festival program also include mask dance competitions and mask dance lessons, which are available for international visitors.
